3:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2026
President Renea Huinker called the meeting to order at 2:58 p.m.
Members present: Renea Huinker, Cathy Humpal, Librarian, Ralph Steinlage, Randy Kuennen, Nancy Babcock, and Sandy Busta.
Approval of Agenda: Ralph made a motion, with a second by Sandy, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: Nancy made a motion, with a second by Randy, to approve the February minutes. Motion carried.
Financial Report: The board looked over the financial pages and had no concerns. Sandy made a motion, with a second by Nancy, to pay the February bills. Motion carried.
Unfinished Business
New Business: There was no new business.

The meeting adjourned at 3:22 p.m., with Ralph making the motion and a second by Randy. Motion carried.

Members present: Renea Huinker, Cathy Humpal, Librarian, Ralph Steinlage, Randy Kuennen, Nancy Babcock, and Sandy Busta.
Approval of Agenda: Ralph made a motion, with a second by Sandy, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: Nancy made a motion, with a second by Randy, to approve the February minutes. Motion carried.
Financial Report: The board looked over the financial pages and had no concerns. Sandy made a motion, with a second by Nancy, to pay the February bills. Motion carried.
Unfinished Business
- Sick Time: Cathy shared policies, facts, and figures she had received from other county library directors. After some discussion, it was decided to leave everything as it is because both the Board and Cathy are fine with how it is handled now.
New Business: There was no new business.
Librarian’s Report
- Circulation Report: Numbers were up and down across the different areas, which is consistent with the past months and with last February. Cathy shared about Legislative matters and State Library info concerning books and libraries.
- Programs: Cathy contacted the Holocaust speaker to let him know we will probably have him come to speak in the fall. Concerning the Care Initiatives program, it was decided to hold the information for now. In 2024, a similar program was held with 9 attending. Book Club had 2 participants. Because lately it has been hard to get enough books, others in this group were contacted, and it was decided to change the format. Wednesday Card Club had 10 players at each of the two dates. The February 8th puzzle party had 6 people and the February 22nd party had 9 people socializing and enjoying working together or alone to get the puzzles put together! Cathy shared that April is Architecture Month. Sandy asked what the library’s plans were to celebrate our Nation’s 250th Birthday. Cathy shared that the State Library has some suggestions with more info to come.
