Lawler Public Library Board Meeting
Lawler Library
3:00 p.m.  Monday, May 5, 2025
 
Vice President Jane Lynch called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.
 
Members present: Jane Lynch, Randy Kuennen, Cathy Humpal, Librarian, Sandy Busta, and Renea Huinker on a conference call. Ralph Steinlage was absent.
 
Approval of Agenda: Sandy made a motion, with a second by Randy, to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
 
Approval of Minutes: Randy made a motion, with a second by Sandy, to approve the April minutes. Motion carried.
 
Financial Report: We received payment from the city. We had a 6% cut from the County, giving us $1,100 less for the upcoming fiscal year. Sandy made a motion to pay the April bills, with a second from Randy. Motion carried.
 
Unfinished Business: None
 
New Business:
  1. Open House During Irish Fest: After some discussion, it was decided to have an Open House from 2-4 p.m. on June 21. Pens and bookmarks would be available. We want to advertise ahead in the bulletin and also have a Welcome Board out front on the sidewalk that day.
 
Librarian’s Report
  1. Circulation Report: Circulation was down again, in most categories.
 
  1. Programs: Story Hour had 4 children and 2 adults, while the Book Club had 3 participants. The Summer Reading Program is titled “Level Up at Your Library”.
 
Next Meeting: Monday, June 2 @ 3:00 p.m.
 
The meeting adjourned at 3:40 p.m., with Randy making the motion and a second by Sandy.
